How to use it
When you first land on the Browse Events page, you'll likely see a list of upcoming public events. These might be events happening soon, or popular ones in your general region. It's a great starting point to get a feel for what's around.
Using the Search Bar to Find Specifics
Let's say you're looking for something particular. You'll notice a search bar at the top or near the list of events. This is your best friend for finding events by name or keyword.
Click inside the search bar and type in what you're interested in β for example, "wine festival", "market", "music", or the name of a specific event you've heard about.
Once you've typed in your search term, press the Enter key on your keyboard or click a Search button (if one is visible next to the bar). The list of events will then update to show only those that match your search!
Applying Filters for a Finer Search
To really narrow down your search and find events relevant to your business, you'll love the filters! These are usually found on the left-hand side or above the event list. You might see options to filter by:
Location: You can typically choose a specific region, city, or even enter a postcode to see events happening right in your backyard or a nearby area you're interested in.
Date Range: Use the date filter to select a start and end date. You can often pick from a calendar, making it visual.
Category: Looking for a specific category of event? You might find categories like "Arts & Culture", "Food & Drink", "Sporting Events", "Markets", "Festivals", or "Conferences". Tick the boxes for the categories that interest you most.
As you select your filters, the event list will usually update automatically, or you might need to click an Apply Filters button.
Viewing Event Details
Once you see an event that piques your interest, simply click on its title or image. This will open up a dedicated page (or a pop-up window) with all the essential details. Here's what you'll typically find:
Full Description: A detailed overview of what the event is all about.
Dates and Times: The exact schedule, including start and end times.
Location: The location address, sometimes with a map link.
Organiser Information: Who is putting on the event β this is excellent for potential networking!
Website/Booking Link: Often, there will be a direct link to the event's official website where you can find more information or purchase tickets.
Clearing Your Filters to Start Fresh
If you've applied many filters and want to start a brand new search, don't worry! Look for a Clear Filters or Reset button, usually located near the filter options. Clicking this will remove all your selections and show you the full list of events again.
Tips
Make it a Regular Habit: Events pop up and change all the time! We recommend checking Browse Events regularly β perhaps once a week or every couple of weeks β to stay up-to-date with new listings and changes.
Think broadly about how events can connect to your business. A local sporting competition might need accommodation, or a music festival could benefit from your tour offerings.
