allows you to access reports, templates and data offline. This enables tourism operators to easily share performance reports with business partners or customise marketing plans in their preferred software. Downloading files also facilitates digital record keeping for future reference and strategic planning.
Accessing this feature
You'll often find download options scattered across different parts of the Tourism Accelerator platform, depending on what you're trying to download. We've made sure to place them intuitively wherever there's something useful for you to take with you! There isn't one single "Download Files" menu item, but rather, you'll spot download opportunities in specific areas. Here's what to look out for:
Look for a clear button: This will often say something like Download, Export, or Get Report.
Keep an eye out for a familiar icon: You'll frequently see an icon that looks like a cloud with an arrow pointing downwards (⬇️) or a simple down-arrow, which is a universal symbol for downloading.
Common places you might find these options include:
Within your Analytics & Reports section: To download your performance summaries, guest insights, or website traffic reports. For example, you might go to Analytics > Performance Reports and then look for a Download button next to a specific report.
In your Templates & Resources Library: To grab handy marketing plans, social media calendars, or operational checklists. You might go to Resources > Marketing Templates and click Download on your chosen template.
When exporting data: If you're looking to export guest lists or booking data for your own records or to use in another system, you'll typically find an Export button in sections like Customers > All Contacts or Bookings > Booking History.
No matter where you are on the platform, if there's something valuable that you can download, we'll make sure there's a clear indicator for you to do so!
How to use it
Once you've spotted a download option, getting your file is very straightforward. Let me walk you through it!
Spot the Download Option: First things first, find that Download button, Export button, or the download icon (⬇️) next to the file or report you're interested in. It'll usually be very clear!
Give it a Click: Click on the button or icon. You might see a little loading spinner briefly, letting you know that the system is preparing your file.
Watch the Magic Happen:
Automatic Download: In most cases, your web browser (like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge) will automatically start downloading the file to your computer's default 'Downloads' folder. You might see a small notification pop up at the bottom or top of your browser window, showing the progress of the download.
"Save As" Prompt (Sometimes): Occasionally, your browser might ask you where you'd like to save the file on your computer. If this happens, choose a folder that's easy for you to remember (like your 'Documents' folder or a specific 'Tourism Accelerator Downloads' folder you create), and then click Save.
Find Your Treasure: Once the download is complete, you'll need to locate the file on your computer.
Check your browser's download list: Most browsers have a download history (often accessible by pressing Ctrl + J on Windows or Cmd + Shift + J on Mac, or by clicking a small arrow/three dots icon in your browser's toolbar). From there, you can usually click on the file name to open it directly or click "Show in Folder" to see where it's saved.
Go to your 'Downloads' folder: On Windows, you can usually find this by opening 'File Explorer' and looking for 'Downloads' in the left-hand menu. On Mac, open 'Finder' and you'll see 'Downloads' in the sidebar.
Open and Explore: Double-click on the downloaded file to open it up! Depending on the file type (e.g., PDF, CSV, XLSX, DOCX), it will open in the appropriate software on your computer (like Adobe Reader for PDFs, Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets, or Microsoft Word for documents).
It's that easy! You've successfully downloaded a file from Tourism Accelerator.
Tips
Create a dedicated folder on your computer for Tourism Accelerator downloads to keep things organised.
Check the file type before downloading to ensure you have the appropriate software to open it.
If you're having trouble finding your downloaded file, try searching for it by name in your computer's file explorer.
