How to use it

Uploading Images

  1. Find the upload area on the "Images" tab for your listing. You will see a section that says something like "Drag and drop your images here" or an Upload Images button.

  2. Choose your files:

  • Option A (Drag & Drop): If you have your image files open in a folder on your computer, you can click on the image (or multiple images!) and drag them directly into that "Drag and drop" area on the screen.

  • Option B (Click to Browse): If you prefer, click on the Upload Images button (or the camera icon). This will open a window that lets you browse your computer's files.

  1. Select your images: Navigate through your computer's folders until you find the image (or images) you want to upload. To select just one image, click on its filename. To select multiple images at once, hold down the Ctrl key (on Windows) or the Command key (on Mac) on your keyboard, and then click on each image you want to upload.

  2. Confirm Selection: Once you've selected your chosen images, click the Open or Choose button in the browsing window.

  3. Watch them upload: You'll see your images start to appear on the screen, with a progress bar as they upload.

  4. Arrange and manage (optional but recommended!):

  • Set a Main Image: Most listings look best with a fantastic "hero" image. You'll see an option (perhaps a star icon or a "Set as Main Image" button) to designate one of your uploaded photos as the primary image that guests will see first.

  • Reorder: You can drag and drop the uploaded images into your preferred order.

  • Add Descriptions/Alt Text: Some sections will allow you to add a short description or "Alt Text" for each image.

  1. Don't forget to Save! Once you're happy with your image uploads and any arrangements, click the Save or Update Listing button.

Managing Images

With our image uploader, you've got flexibility to make your listing look just right:

  • Upload Multiple Images: Showcase various aspects of your experience by adding several photos at once or one by one.

  • Set a Main or "Hero" Image: Choose the best photo to be the first one potential guests see.

  • Rearrange Your Gallery: Drag and drop your photos to display them in the order that best tells your story.

  • Delete Images: If you've uploaded an image by mistake or want to replace an old one, you can remove it from your gallery.

  • Add Alt Text (Alternative Text): Provide a brief description for each image. This is helpful for accessibility and SEO!

Tips

To truly make your images work wonders for your business, here are a few friendly tips:

  • High-Quality is Key: Aim for clear, high-resolution images. Blurry or pixelated photos can make your offering seem less professional. Good lighting makes a huge difference!

  • Show, Don't Just Tell: Instead of a photo of your building, show people enjoying your experience! Guests laughing on a tour, families relaxing in your accommodation, or the delicious food you serve.

  • Variety is the Spice of Life: Upload a range of photos. Include wide shots to show the overall scene, close-ups of interesting details, and action shots.

  • Mind Your File Size: While high-quality is great, super-large file sizes can slow down how quickly your listing loads for visitors. We recommend using images that are around 1920 pixels on the longest side and saving them as a JPEG (.jpg) file for a good balance of quality and speed. Our system will optimise them for you, but starting with a sensible size helps!

  • Use Alt Text Wisely: This is a hidden gem! Alt Text describes your image for people who can't see it (e.g., using screen readers) and also helps search engines understand what your image is about. Instead of "Image1.jpg", write "Happy family enjoying a scenic wildlife cruise in Cairns". It's a small step that makes a big difference!

  • Keep it Current: Refresh your images regularly, especially if you've updated your offerings or if the seasons have changed. Fresh content keeps your listing engaging!

  • Landscape Orientation Often Works Best: While not a rule, wider (landscape) photos tend to look great as hero images and across various devices.
