Accessing this feature

To access book coaching sessions, log into your Tourism Accelerator Launchpad. From the main dashboard, look for the main navigation menu. Click on "My Programs" or "Support & Coaching". The exact wording might vary, but it will be something along those lines. Look for where all your support resources live. Within that section, you will see an option for "Book Coaching Sessions".

You can also head directly to: https://launchpad.tourismaccelerator.com.au/book-coaching (remember to log in first!).

How to use it

Booking a Session

  1. Meet Your Coaches: On the Book Coaching page, you will see a selection of our expert book coaches. You might see a short bio for each, highlighting their experience and areas of specialisation. Take a moment to read through them and see whose expertise resonates most with your book project.

  2. Choose Your Coach (and Session Type): Once you have found a coach you would like to work with, click on their profile or the Book Session button associated with their name. Sometimes, you might also have an option to choose a specific type of session (e.g., "Idea Brainstorm," "Outline Review"), but often it's a general coaching session ready for your agenda!

  3. Pick a Date and Time: You will then be taken to a calendar view. This is where you can see your chosen coach's availability. Days with open slots will be highlighted. Click on your preferred date, and then select a time slot that works best for you from the available options. All times will be shown in your local timezone, so no need to do any tricky conversions!

  4. Tell Us About Your Book: Before you confirm, you will usually see a brief form. This is your chance to tell your coach about what you would like to discuss during your session. Just a few bullet points about your book idea, any challenges you are facing, or specific questions you have will be perfect. This helps your coach prepare so you can make the most of your time together.

  5. Confirm Your Booking: Once you have filled in the details, click the Confirm Booking or Schedule Session button. You will receive a confirmation email with all the details of your session, including a link to join your virtual meeting. This email will also usually include a calendar invite that you can add to your own personal calendar, so you will not forget!

Tips

To ensure you get everything you can out of your Book Coaching sessions, here are a few tips:

  • Prepare Beforehand: Before your session, jot down any questions you have, specific challenges you are facing, or the main topics you want to discuss. Even a few bullet points will help focus your session.

  • Be Open and Honest: Do not be shy about where you are at in your writing journey, even if it feels unfinished or a bit messy. Your coach is there to help, not to judge! The more open you are, the better they can tailor their advice to your specific needs.

  • Take Notes During the Session: Keep a pen and paper or a digital notepad handy during your call. There will likely be lots of great ideas and actionable advice shared, and you will want to remember them all!

  • Define Your Goal for the Session: Before logging on, quickly think, "What's the one thing I really want to achieve or understand by the end of this session?" This helps keep the conversation focused and productive.

  • Do Not Be Afraid to Ask Questions: There's no such thing as a question, especially when you are embarking on something as significant as writing a book. If you are unsure about anything, ask!

  • Block Out Time Afterwards: Try to schedule time after your session to review your notes and start implementing any immediate actions. The sooner you act on the advice, the more momentum you will build.

  • Consider Regular Sessions: For ongoing projects, booking a series of sessions can be beneficial. It provides
