How to use it
Changing Your Password
In the 'Security' section, you'll see a heading for 'Password'.
Click the Change Password button.
You'll see a form pop up. Here's what you need to fill in:
Current Password: Type in the password you're using right now.
New Password: Enter your new password. Make it something unique and strong.
Confirm New Password: Type your new password again.
Once you've filled everything in, click the Save Changes button.
You'll probably be asked to log in again with your new password.
Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
In the 'Security' section, under the 'Two-Factor Authentication' heading, click the Enable 2FA button.
You'll see a screen with a QR code and a long text code.
Open your authenticator app on your phone.
Look for an option to 'Add a new account' or 'Scan a QR code'.
Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen.
If you can't scan it, you can manually type in the long text code into your app instead.
On your computer screen, in the Tourism Accelerator security settings, enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app into the 'Verification Code' box.
You'll also see a list of 'Backup Codes'. These are one-time-use codes that will let you get into your account if you ever lose your phone or can't access your authenticator app.
Please write these down and store them in a very safe, private place, away from your computer and phone. You can also download them to a secure location.
Once you've safely noted your backup codes and entered the verification code, click Confirm and Enable.
Tips
Choose Strong Passwords: Mix in uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols (like !, @, #). The longer, the better!
Avoid using easily guessable information like your business name, birthday, or common phrases.
Unique Passwords for Each Account: Try to use a different, strong password for each important online service.
Consider a Password Manager: If remembering lots of unique, strong passwords feels overwhelming, a password manager app can be a real lifesaver! They securely store all your passwords and can even generate super-strong ones for you.
Don't Share Your Password: If you need to grant access to a team member, explore our user management features instead of sharing your personal login.
Back Up Those 2FA Codes: Those backup codes are your lifeline if you can't access your phone. Store them somewhere safe, like a physical safe or a secure, encrypted document.
Review Your Settings Periodically: It's a good idea to pop into your security settings every now and then, just to make sure everything looks right and to update your password.
