The Event Management feature allows you to showcase your experiences by creating, organising, and promoting events. By listing your events, potential visitors can easily discover details and book their spot, leading to increased engagement and bookings for your tourism business.
Accessing this feature
Go to Events Management.
How to use it
Start a New Event:
Once you are on the Events Management page, you will see a prominent button that says something like Create New Event or Add Event. Click that button to kick things off.
Give Your Event a Great Name:
You will see a field called Event Title or Event Name. This is where you will type in what your event is called. Make it catchy and clear so people instantly know what it is about! For example, "Twilight River Cruise" or "Local Flavours Food Tour."
Tell Everyone About It (Description):
Next, you will find a larger text box, probably labelled Description or About the Event. This is your chance to stand out! Write a friendly and engaging description that tells potential visitors all the exciting details. What will they experience? What makes it special? What should they bring? Be as detailed and inviting as possible.
Set the Date and Time:
Look for fields like Start Date, End Date, Start Time, and End Time. Use the calendars and time selectors to pick when your event begins and finishes. If your event repeats, there might be an option for that too, which is very handy!
Where's the Fun Happening? (Location):
There will be a field for Location or Venue. Type in the address or a clear description of where your event will take place. This helps visitors plan their journey.
Add a Stunning Image:
A picture is worth a thousand words, especially in tourism! Look for an Upload Image or Add Photo section. Click on it, and you will be able to choose a fantastic photo from your computer or phone that perfectly captures the spirit of your event. High-quality images really make your event stand out!
Ticket & Pricing Details (If Applicable):
If your event has a cost or requires booking, you will likely see sections for Pricing, Ticket Types, or Capacity. Here you can set the price, create different ticket options (like Adult or Child), and limit how many people can attend. Do not worry if it is a free event; you can usually indicate that too!
Review and Publish:
Once you have filled in all the details, take a moment to review everything to make sure it is perfect. Then, look for a button that says Save, Publish, or Create Event and give it a click! Your event is now live and ready for the world to see.
Tips
Plan Ahead: Do not wait until the last minute! Giving yourself plenty of time to create and promote your event means more people will see it and have time to plan.
High-Quality Visuals are Key: Invest in stunning photos or a short video. Visuals grab attention much faster than text alone and really help sell the experience.
Craft Compelling Descriptions: Write like you are talking to a friend! Use engaging language that paints a picture of what attendees will experience. Highlight the unique aspects and benefits.
Promote Widely: Do not simply list it and forget it! Share your event link on your socials, email newsletters, and local community boards. The more places it is seen, the more bookings you will get.
Consider Off-Peak Fillers: Events are fantastic for boosting business during slower periods. Think about special experiences that could attract visitors during your typical slow periods.
Bundle Experiences: Can you combine an event with an accommodation package or another local attraction? Bundling offers excellent value and encourages longer stays.
Gather Feedback: After your event, consider sending a quick survey to attendees. Their feedback is invaluable for improving your next event.
