permanently removes existing guides from the platform. This helps tourism operators maintain accurate information for guests, such as updated check-in instructions or seasonal changes, ensuring a smooth start to their experience. Deleting unused guides also simplifies account management.
Accessing this feature
REQUIRES_DEVELOPER_INPUT: The location of Arrivals Guides is unknown.
How to use it
Find Your Guide: You'll see a list of all the Arrivals Guides you've created. Take a moment to scroll through and identify the specific guide you want to delete. Double-check its name to make sure you've got the right one!
Locate the Options: Next to each Arrivals Guide in the list, you'll usually see a set of options. This might be represented by a three-dot icon ( ... ), a gear icon (⚙️), or sometimes even a direct Delete button. Give that icon a click for the guide you want to remove.
Click Delete: From the options that appear, select Delete. It's highlighted in red, to make it clear what you're doing.
Confirm Your Choice: Here's an important step! To make sure you don't accidentally delete something valuable, we'll ask you to confirm. You'll see a pop-up message, something like: "Are you sure you want to delete this Arrivals Guide? This action cannot be undone." This is your friendly warning that once it's gone, it's gone for good!
Final Confirmation: If you're sure you want to proceed, click the Delete or Confirm button within that pop-up window. And voilà! The Arrivals Guide will instantly be removed from your list and will no longer be accessible to any guests.
Tips
Regular Review: Make it a habit to check your Arrivals Guides every few months, or whenever there's a significant change in your business or local area. A quick scan can identify any guides that need updating or deleting.
Consider Replacing, Not Just Deleting: If you're deleting a guide because it's outdated, think about creating a new, improved version right away! This ensures there's no gap in the helpful information you provide to your guests.
Inform Your Guests (If Applicable): If you've widely distributed a link to an Arrivals Guide that you're now deleting, and you think guests might still be using that link, consider sending out a quick update. You could direct them to your new guide or explain why the old one is no longer available.
Team Communication: If you have multiple people managing content in your Tourism Accelerator account, make sure everyone is on the same page about which guides are active and which ones should be retired. A quick chat can prevent any confusion!
Back Up Important Info (Optional): While you can't "undelete" a guide, if you've put a lot of effort into a particular guide and just want to remove it temporarily or might want to reuse parts of it later, you could copy and paste the text content into a document on your computer before deleting. This way, you have a record of the information.
