How to use it

Finding a Partner

  1. On the 'Find Partners' page, you'll see a list of other tourism businesses. You can use the Search Bar to look for specific business names, or apply Filters (like location, type of business, or specific offerings) to narrow down your search.

  2. Browse through the profiles. Each profile gives you a glimpse into what that business does.

  3. When you find a business that interests you, click on their name or profile card to view their full profile.

Sending a Connection Request

  1. Once you're viewing a partner's profile, you'll see a prominent Connect button. Click that button.

  2. A window will appear, asking you to write a short message.

  3. Write a friendly, personalised note. For example: "Hi [Partner's Business Name] team, I'm [Your Name] from [Your Business Name]. I was really impressed by your [mention something specific you liked, e.g., 'unique bushwalking tours' or 'focus on sustainable travel'] and would love to connect. I think there might be some great opportunities for us to collaborate!"

  4. Click the Send Request button.

Your connection request will be sent to the other business, who can then choose to accept or decline your invitation.

Tips

  • Make Your Profile Engaging: Before you start sending requests, update your own Tourism Accelerator profile. Other businesses will look at your profile when deciding whether to connect, so make it clear what you offer and what makes your business special!

  • Personalise Your Messages: A generic "Connect" request is less likely to be accepted than one with a tailored message. Show that you've genuinely looked at their business and have a good reason to connect.

  • Think About Mutual Benefit: When you reach out, articulate what's in it for both of you. How could connecting with you benefit their business? Maybe you offer complementary services, attract a similar guest demographic, or operate in the same region.

  • Be Patient: Not everyone checks their notifications constantly, so don't be disheartened if you don't hear back immediately. Give them some time.

  • Quality Over Quantity: It's more valuable to have a handful of strong, meaningful connections than many superficial ones. Focus on building genuine relationships with businesses you admire and believe you can grow with.

  • Follow Up After Connecting: Once a connection is accepted, send a quick "Thanks for connecting!" message and suggest a brief virtual coffee chat or a phone call to explore ideas further.
