Rate sheets allow you to manage pricing flexibility for your tourism offerings. You can adjust prices for peak seasons, offer different rates for various guest types, and create special deals that automatically apply during specific periods. This ensures your pricing is always up-to-date, maximising bookings and revenue without manual updates.

How to use it

Editing an Existing Rate Sheet

  1. On the 'Rate Sheets' page, find the rate sheet you want to update.

  2. Click the Edit button (it might look like a little pencil icon) next to the rate sheet you want to change.

  3. Adjust pricing for different booking types (e.g., adult, child) or specific dates. You might see a calendar view or a list where you can input new values.

  4. If your rate sheet also controls availability, adjust the number of spots or resources available for specific dates or times.

  5. Add or edit rules, such as minimum stay requirements, blackout dates, or special discounts for certain booking windows.

  6. Make sure the start and end dates for your pricing rules are correct. This is important for seasonal changes!

  7. Review your changes before saving.

  8. Click the Save button to save your work. If you're ready for these changes to go live, you might also see a Publish option. If you want to save it as a draft, that's usually an option too!

Creating a New Rate Sheet

  1. On the main 'Rate Sheets' page, click the + Create New Rate Sheet button to start from scratch. [Verify correct button name with developer]

  2. Give your new rate sheet a clear and descriptive name (e.g., "Summer Peak Season 2024", "Winter Off-Peak Rates"). This helps you keep organised!

  3. Select which of your tourism experiences this rate sheet will apply to.

  4. Set up all the pricing and rules.

  5. Click Save and then Publish when you're ready for it to go live.

Tips

  • Review your rate sheets at least once a quarter (or before each new season) to make sure your pricing is competitive and profitable.

  • Plan your rate sheets around your peak, shoulder, and off-peak seasons. This lets you maximise revenue when demand is high and attract guests during quieter times.

  • Consider different markets: international visitors, local families, or corporate groups. You might want to create specific rate sheets tailored to their needs and pricing expectations.

  • Give your rate sheets descriptive names (e.g., "Winter Wonderland Package 2024", "Weekday Eco-Tour Rates") so you can easily find and understand them later.

  • If you're making big changes, save your rate sheet as a draft first. If possible, use a test booking or have a colleague review it to make sure everything appears correctly before you publish.
