How to use it

  1. Once you've clicked on Overview Report, you'll land on a user-friendly page designed to give you all the key information at a glance.

  2. Choose Your Date Range: Near the top of the report, you'll see an option to select a specific date range. This is very useful! You can choose to view your report for:

  • Today

  • Yesterday

  • This Week

  • Last Week

  • This Month

  • Last Month

  • This Quarter

  • Last Quarter

  • This Year

  • Last Year

  • Or even a Custom Range where you can pick your own start and end dates.

  1. Click on the date range selector, pick your preferred period, and the report will instantly update to show you the data for that time. It's a great way to compare performance over different periods!

  2. Take a Look at the Key Metrics: As you scroll down, you'll see various sections, each designed to highlight a different aspect of your business. These are typically presented with clear numbers and often with easy-to-read charts or graphs. You'll generally find:

  • Total Revenue: This shows you the total amount of money your business has earned from bookings within your chosen date range.

  • Total Bookings: The number of individual bookings made.

  • Number of Guests: How many unique individuals have booked with you.

  • Average Booking Value: The average amount spent per booking.

  • Top-Performing Experiences/Tours: A list of your most popular offerings, so you can easily see what's a hit with your guests.

  • Booking Trends: Often displayed as a simple graph, this helps you visualise how your bookings have progressed over the selected period.

  1. Understand Your Data: All the information is presented in a way that's easy to understand, without any confusing technical terms. Each section is labelled clearly, so you know exactly what you're looking at. For example, 'Total Revenue' means the total money you've brought in.

  2. No Saving Needed: The Overview Report is dynamic, meaning it updates automatically based on your date range selection. There's no Save button to click after you've viewed it; the data is live and always available whenever you need it.

Tips

The Overview Report is a powerful tool that helps you understand your business better and make informed decisions. Here are some of the great things you can do with the insights you gain:

  • Quickly Check Your Business Health: Get an instant snapshot of how your business is performing financially and operationally. It's perfect for those moments when you just need to know "how are we doing?"

  • Spot Your Stars: Easily identify which of your tours, activities, or packages are the most popular and bringing in the most revenue. This helps you understand what really resonates with your guests.

  • Track Your Progress Over Time: By changing the date range, you can compare your current performance against previous weeks, months, or even years. Are you growing? Are there seasonal dips you need to plan for?

  • Understand Your Guest Flow: See how many guests you're attracting and how that number changes over different periods. This can help with staffing and resource planning.

  • Identify Areas for Improvement: If you notice a particular tour isn't performing as well, or if bookings are down during a specific time, it prompts you to investigate why and come up with strategies to boost performance.

  • Inform Your Marketing Efforts: Knowing what's popular or what needs a boost can directly influence where you focus your advertising and promotional activities.

  • Prepare for Meetings with Ease: Need to update your team, investors, or business partners on your performance? The Overview Report provides clear, concise data that you can easily share and discuss.

  • Check your Overview Report regularly to stay on top of your business's performance and identify trends early.

  • Compare Apples with Apples (and Oranges with Oranges!): Don't just look at one period in isolation. Use the date range selector to compare:

  • This Month vs. Last Month: To see immediate growth or dips.

  • This Year vs. Last Year: To understand long-term growth and seasonal patterns.

  • Peak Season vs. Off-Peak Season: To strategise promotions for quieter times.

  • Look Beyond the Numbers – Ask "Why?": When you see a spike in bookings, ask
