The Advanced Analytics dashboard provides a clear view of your tourism business performance. It organises data from bookings, website visitors, and customer interactions into reports and charts, helping you identify trends and optimise your offerings to attract more guests.

Accessing this feature

You have a couple of ways to access it:

Through the Launchpad:

  1. Make sure you're logged into your Tourism Accelerator Launchpad.

  2. Once you're in, look for the main navigation menu on the left side of your screen.

  3. Go to Analytics.

Direct Link:

You can also go directly there by visiting: https://launchpad.tourismaccelerator.com.au/analytics/advanced (Just make sure you're logged in first!)

How to use it

  1. Choose Your Report Type: On the left-hand side or at the top of the dashboard, you'll see different categories of reports, like "Customer Insights," "Booking Trends," "Marketing Performance," or "Website Traffic." Click on the report category that you're most interested in exploring first. For example, let's click on Booking Trends.

  2. Select Your Specific Analysis: Once you've chosen a category, you'll likely see a list of more specific analyses within it. For "Booking Trends," you might see options like "Bookings by Month," "Peak Booking Times," or "Popular Packages." Click on the specific analysis you want to view. Let's choose Popular Packages.

  3. Set Your Date Range and Filters: Every report will have options to choose a date range. You might want to see data from "Last Month," "This Quarter," "Last Year," or a "Custom Range." Click on the Date Range selector (it often looks like a calendar icon or a dropdown menu) and choose your preferred period. You might also see other filters, like "By Region," "By Product Category," or "By Customer Type." Use these if you want to narrow down your focus even further. For now, let's keep it simple.

  4. Generate and View Your Report: After selecting your options, the report will usually update automatically, or you might need to click a Generate Report button. You'll then see your data presented in easy-to-understand charts, graphs, or tables.

  5. Export (Optional): If you want to save the report or share it with your team, look for an Export or Download button (often an icon like a down arrow or a spreadsheet symbol). This usually lets you save it as a PDF or CSV file.

Tips

With Advanced Analytics, here are some of the things you can discover and do:

  • Understand Your Guests: See where your visitors come from, their favourite types of experiences, and how often they book with you. This helps you tailor your offerings and marketing messages.

  • Identify Your Star Performers: Pinpoint which tours, packages, or activities are consistently the most popular and profitable. You can then focus more on promoting these.

  • Spot Trends and Seasons: Notice patterns in bookings throughout the year, month, or even week.

  • Track Your Marketing Success: See which marketing channels (like social media, email campaigns, or website advertisements) are bringing in the most bookings and revenue.

  • Optimise Your Website: Understand which pages visitors spend the most time on, where they come from, and if there are any points where they might be getting stuck.

  • Forecast Future Demand: Get a sense of what future booking levels might look like based on past trends, helping you prepare for busy periods or plan promotions for quieter times.

  • Improve Pricing Strategies: Use insights into demand and popularity to inform your pricing for different seasons or guest segments.

  • Start Simple: Pick one or two key questions you want answers to, like "Which tour is most popular in summer?" and focus on that report first.

  • Check Regularly: Make it a habit to check your analytics once a week or month.

  • Compare Over Time: Compare data to last month, the same month last year, or even last quarter.

  • Look for Patterns, Not Just Numbers: See the bigger picture. Is there a consistent day of the week that's busiest? Does a particular promotion always lead to a spike?

  • Combine with Your Gut Feeling: Use the data to confirm or challenge your instincts.

  • Be Afraid to Experiment: Play around with different filters and date ranges.

  • Share with Your Team: Share interesting findings with your team.

  • Ask "Why?": When you see something interesting (a big spike, a sudden drop), ask yourself "Why did that happen?"
