The Collaboration Creation feature allows you to connect with other tourism operators and propose partnership ideas. This helps you expand your reach and create unique offerings, such as a winery partnering with a food producer for an exclusive tasting menu. The feature simplifies collaboration management, enabling you to grow your business by working with other tourism champions.

Accessing this feature

Go to Collaborations

How to use it

  1. Click the Create New Collaboration button.

  2. In the 'Collaboration Title' field, give your partnership idea a clear and inviting name. For example, "Adelaide Hills Wine & Dine Experience" or "Coastal Adventure Package Partnership".

  3. In the 'Description' box, provide a friendly explanation of your collaboration idea. What is it you hoping to achieve? What kind of experience do you imagine? Be enthusiastic and clear! Example: "We're looking for a local gourmet food producer to create an exclusive tasting menu for our winery tours, or perhaps a boutique accommodation provider to offer overnight stays as part of a premium package."

  4. Below the description, you'll find a section for 'Collaboration Objectives'. This is where you can outline what you hope to achieve. Are you aiming to increase bookings by a certain percentage? Reach a new market segment? Increase off-peak visitation? Being specific here helps attract the right partners. You might see options to select from a list (e.g., 'Increase Bookings', 'Expand Market Reach') or a free-text field to add your own.

  5. Use the 'Ideal Partner Profile' section to describe who you're looking for. What type of business are they (e.g., restaurant, tour operator, hotel, retail)? What kind of experience or offering do they provide? Are there any specific locations you're targeting (e.g., "Must be located within 20km of our winery")? Being clear helps ensure you connect with businesses that are a great fit.

  6. If your collaboration has a specific seasonal focus or a limited run, you can set a start and end date in the 'Proposed Timeframe' section. If it's an ongoing idea, you can leave this blank or select 'Ongoing'.

  7. Add relevant tags like "wine", "food", "adventure", "accommodation", "family-friendly", "luxury".

  8. Take a moment to read over everything you've written. Does it sound clear, friendly, and exciting? Once you're happy, click the Publish Collaboration button.

You will receive notifications when partners express interest.

Once your collaboration is published, you can:

  • Browse collaboration ideas posted by other businesses.

  • Propose your own ideas.

  • Track communications with potential and existing partners within the platform.

  • See who has viewed your collaboration and who has expressed interest in joining.

  • Work with partners to build new packages or experiences that benefit everyone involved.

  • Share marketing efforts to access a wider audience together.

This streamlines the collaboration process.

Tips

  • The more clearly you describe your idea and your ideal partner, the easier it will be to find the right match.

  • Consider unexpected pairings. A yoga studio and a local bakery? A historical tour and a modern art gallery? Get creative!

  • When describing your idea, emphasise what's in it for your potential partners. How will this collaboration help their business grow?

  • If you're new to collaborations, consider starting with a smaller, more manageable project. Once you see success, you can always scale up or take on bigger ventures.

  • Clear and regular communication is key. Keep your partners informed and be responsive.

  • Agree with your partners on how you'll measure the success of your collaboration (e.g., number of bookings, customer feedback, media mentions). This helps you learn and improve.

  • Maintain an up-to-date Tourism Accelerator business profile. This helps potential partners understand who you are and what you offer when they're considering your collaboration proposal.
