allows you to connect directly with potential guests, share news, and promote experiences. Tourism operators can use this feature to nurture relationships, drive bookings, and grow their business by sending targeted promotions and updates.
Accessing this feature
First, log into your Tourism Accelerator account. You can always go to https://launchpad.tourismaccelerator.com.au if you need the direct link.
Once you're in, look for the main navigation menu on the left-hand side of your screen.
Go to Communications > Email Campaigns.
You'll then see a list of any campaigns you've sent before.
To start a brand new one, click the bright + Create New Campaign button, usually located in the top right-hand corner.
How to use it
Giving Your Campaign a Name
Give your campaign an internal name. This is for your organisation's reference, so you can easily find it later.
You'll see a field labelled "Campaign Name". Type something clear here, like "Spring Adventures Newsletter" or "Last Minute Whale Watching Deal - March". This name won't be seen by your guests, so don't stress too much about making it perfect β make it easy for you to recognise!
Click Next Step.
Choosing Your Audience
Select your recipients.
On this screen, you'll see options to choose your audience. You might have lists like "All Subscribers," "Past Guests," or "Website Enquiries."
Tick the box next to the list(s) you want to send your campaign to.
Click Next Step.
Crafting Your Email Details
Subject Line: Make it exciting and clear. For example, instead of "Newsletter," try "Your Next Adventure Awaits: Explore Our Spring Tours!" or "Flash Sale: 20% Off Whale Watching This Weekend!"
Preheader Text: Expand on your subject line or offer a sneak peek. E.g., "Discover breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable moments."
Sender Name: This is who the email appears to be from. Usually, it's your business name (e.g., "Coastal Adventures Tours").
Sender Email Address: This is the email address your campaign will be sent from. Make sure it's one your guests recognise.
After filling in these details, click Next Step.
Designing Your Email Content
Choose a Template: You'll see a selection of beautiful, mobile-friendly templates designed for tourism businesses. Pick the one that best suits your message.
Drag and Drop Editor: You'll see blocks on the side (like "Text," "Image," "Button"). Drag them into your email layout.
Text: Click on a text block to type your message. Keep it friendly and concise!
Images: Click on an image block to upload stunning photos of your tours and experiences. Visuals are key for tourism!
Buttons: Add a clear call-to-action button, like "Book Now" or "Learn More". Make sure the button links directly to the relevant page on your website.
Personalisation: You can often insert your guest's first name (e.g., "Hi [First Name]!"). Look for an option to add personalisation tags.
Once you're happy with your design, click Next Step.
Reviewing and Testing
Review Summary: You'll see a summary of your campaign details β subject line, sender, and audience. Double-check everything for typos or errors.
Send Test Email: Click the Send Test Email button and send it to your own inbox (and maybe a colleague's).
Open the test email on your phone and computer.
Check how it looks: Are the images loading? Does the text wrap nicely? Are all the links working correctly?
If everything looks perfect, click Next Step. If not, go back and make any adjustments!
Scheduling or Sending
You'll have two main options here:
Send Now: If you're ready, click the Send Now button. Your email campaign will be sent out almost instantly.
Schedule for Later: Click Schedule for Later, choose your preferred date and time, then click Schedule Campaign.
Once you click send or schedule, you'll usually get a final confirmation message. Confirm, and your email campaign will be on its way!
Tips
If you're sending a very specific offer, choosing a smaller, more targeted list often leads to better results! For example, if you have a special for families, send it to your "Family Enquiries" list.
