(2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Tourism Accelerator account. It protects your business data, booking information, and financial details from unauthorized access, protecting your business's reputation and sensitive information from potential online threats.
Accessing this feature
Go to Settings > Security
How to use it
Enabling Two-Factor Authentication
On the Security page, click the Enable 2FA or Set Up Two-Factor Authentication button.
Your screen will display a unique QR code.
Open your authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator or Authy). If you don't have one, go to your phone's app store (Apple App Store for iPhones or Google Play Store for Android) and download one.
Inside the app, look for a '+' sign or an option like Add Account or Scan a QR code.
Tap on that. Your phone's camera will activate.
Hold your phone up to your computer screen and position the QR code within the frame on your phone's screen. The app will automatically recognise and scan the code.
Your authenticator app will instantly add 'Tourism Accelerator' (or a similar name) to its list, and it will start generating a new 6-digit code every 30-60 seconds. This is your temporary security code!
Back on your computer screen, below the QR code, there will be a field asking for a Verification Code or Authenticator Code.
Look at your authenticator app, find the current 6-digit code for Tourism Accelerator, and type it carefully into this field on your computer.
After you enter the code and click Verify or Next, you'll be shown a list of Recovery Codes. These are very important!
These one-time-use codes are your backup if you ever lose your phone or can't access your authenticator app.
Write these codes down and store them in a safe, secure place (like a physical safe, a secure document, or a password manager β not just a note on your phone). Each code can only be used once. If you're stuck and can't log in, these codes will be your backup.
Once you've saved your recovery codes, check the box that says you've saved them and click Finish Setup or Enable 2FA.
Tips
Guard your recovery codes: Treat your recovery codes like cash β keep them in a safe, secure, offline location. Don't store them on the same device as your authenticator app. If you ever lose your phone, these are your access back into your account.
Keep Your Authenticator App Secure: Make sure your phone itself is protected with a PIN, fingerprint, or face ID. This adds another barrier if your phone ever falls into the wrong hands.
Consider a Backup Authenticator (Optional): Some people like to set up their 2FA on two devices (e.g., phone and tablet) using the same secret key during the initial setup. This provides a backup in case one device is lost. Just be careful not to share the secret key!
If other members of your team have their own logins to Tourism Accelerator, encourage them to set up 2FA too! Security is a team effort, and every account protected makes the whole organisation safer.
It's a good habit to occasionally check your account settings and ensure all your security measures, including 2FA, are active and current.
