Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Tourism Accelerator account. This helps protect your tourism business information, such as bookings and customer details, by requiring a unique code sent to your registered device or email after you enter your password.
Accessing this feature
You'll encounter the 2FA step after entering your email and password on the login page: https://launchpad.tourismaccelerator.com.au/login
How to use it
It can be frustrating when the code doesn't arrive immediately, but it's usually a simple fix. Here's how to troubleshoot:
Troubleshooting 2FA Codes
Double-Check Your Phone or Email Inbox:
For SMS codes: Is your phone turned on and do you have good mobile reception? Messages can be delayed if you're in an area with poor reception. Also, make sure you're using the phone you registered.
For Email codes: Make sure you're checking the correct email address associated with your Tourism Accelerator account.
Check Your Spam or Junk Folder: Email providers can be overzealous and move legitimate emails to your spam or junk folder. If you find it, mark it as "Not Spam" or "Not Junk" to help ensure future codes arrive in your main inbox.
Wait a Moment, Then Try Again: There can be a slight delay in sending or receiving codes. Wait 30 seconds to a minute. If it's still not there, try resending the code.
Resend the Code: On the 2FA code entry screen, you'll usually see a link or button that says something like Resend Code or Didn't get a code?. Click on this. This will prompt the system to send a new code to your registered device or email. Please be patient, as it might take another moment to arrive.
Check Your Registered Details: It's possible your contact details might be out of date. If you've recently changed your phone number or email address, the codes might be going to an old contact method. If you can't log in at all because of this, contact our support team (details below) and we can help you verify your identity and update your details.
Using an Authenticator App? If you've previously set up an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator or Authy) for your 2FA, remember to open that app on your phone. The app generates a new code every 30-60 seconds, so you don't need to wait for an SMS or email. Just type in the code that's currently displayed in your authenticator app.
Try a Different Web Browser or Clear Your Cache: Sometimes, temporary internet files (cache and cookies) can cause minor issues. You could try opening a different web browser (like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge) and logging in there. Alternatively, you can clear your browser's cache and cookies. This is straightforward. You can usually find this option in your browser's settings under "Privacy" or "History". Just search for "clear cache" in your browser's help section if you're unsure.
Tips
When your 2FA code doesn't arrive, here's a quick summary of the actions you can take:
Check your mobile reception and phone battery (for SMS codes).
Verify you're checking the correct email inbox (for email codes).
Look in your spam or junk email folders.
Wait a minute or so before trying again.
Click the Resend Code option on the 2FA screen.
Open your authenticator app if you've set one up.
Try logging in using a different web browser.
Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
Contact us if you suspect your registered contact details are out of date.
2FA is a valuable security measure, and here are a few tips to make sure it's always working smoothly:
Keep Your Contact Details Up-to-Date: This is essential! If you change your phone number or email address, make sure to update it in your Tourism Accelerator account settings as soon as possible. This ensures your 2FA codes always go to the right place.
Consider an Authenticator App: If you're looking for an even more reliable and often faster way to get your 2FA codes, setting up an authenticator app is an excellent option. These apps generate codes directly on your phone, so you don't rely on mobile network reception or email delivery. If you'd like to know more about setting one up, contact us.
Understand Why It's There: Remembering that 2FA is there to protect your business and your customers' data can make the extra security worthwhile. It's a small step that provides a huge boost to your online security.
