allows you to define the conditions participants must meet before enrolling in or progressing through a program. This ensures participants have the necessary skills and knowledge, maintaining program quality. For example, you can require participants to complete a specific course or upload a business licence before accessing advanced modules.

REQUIRES_DEVELOPER_INPUT: I need the exact navigation path to access the program settings and the "Prerequisites" tab.
How to use it
The Program Prerequisites Setup interface provides a structured approach to defining and managing the conditions for program entry and progression. Follow these steps to configure your program prerequisites effectively:
Navigating to the Prerequisites Section:
Access the specific program using the navigation detailed above.
Once on the program's dashboard, locate and click the "Prerequisites" tab. This will display any existing prerequisites or provide the option to add new ones.
Adding a New Prerequisite:
Click the "Add New Prerequisite" button. A configuration panel or modal will appear, prompting you to define the details of the new requirement.
Defining Prerequisite Type:
Select the type of prerequisite from the available options. The system supports various types to cover diverse requirements:
Course Completion: Requires participants to have completed one or more specific courses within the platform.
Document Upload: Mandates the submission of a specific document (e.g., business plan, certification, licence).
Certification: Requires proof of a specific external certification or qualification.
Quiz Score: Demands a minimum score on a designated quiz or assessment.
Manual Approval: Sets a requirement that must be manually reviewed and approved by an administrator.
Configuring Specific Details Based on Type:
For Course Completion:
Select Course(s): Use the search or dropdown to select the required course(s).
Completion Status: Specify whether the participant must have "Completed" the course, or "Passed" it (if a passing score is defined).
Enforcement: Determine if completion is required for enrolment or for progression to specific program stages.
For Document Upload:
Document Name: Provide a clear, descriptive name for the required document (e.g., "Current Public Liability Insurance Certificate").
File Type(s): Specify acceptable file formats (e.g., PDF, JPG, PNG).
Instructions for Participant: Provide clear guidance on what the document should contain and how to upload it.
Approval Required: Enable this option if the uploaded document needs administrator review and approval before the prerequisite is met.
For Certification:
Certification Name: Enter the exact name of the required certification (e.g., "First Aid Certificate").
Issuing Body (Optional): Specify the organisation that issues the certification.
Expiry Date (Optional): If the certification has an expiry, enable this to track and prompt for renewal.
Proof of Certification: Participants will typically upload a copy of their certificate, which may require manual approval.
For Quiz Score:
Select Quiz: Choose the specific quiz that participants must complete.
Minimum Score: Define the minimum percentage or point score required to satisfy the prerequisite.
For Manual Approval:
Requirement Description: Clearly articulate what the participant needs to do or demonstrate to gain approval (e.g., "Attend an interview with a program mentor," "Submit a project proposal for review").
Instructions for Participant: Guide the participant on how to initiate the approval process.
Assign Approver (Optional): Designate a specific administrator or role responsible for granting approval.
Setting Prerequisite Enforcement:
Determine when the prerequisite must be met:
Required for Enrolment: The participant cannot enrol in the program until this prerequisite is satisfied.
Required for Progression: The participant can enrol but cannot access certain modules, stages, or content within the program until this prerequisite is met. This allows for staged requirements.
Optional: The prerequisite is recommended but not mandatory for enrolment or progression. This is useful for suggested preparatory steps.
Adding Description/Instructions:
Provide a concise and helpful description for participants, explaining the purpose of the prerequisite and any specific actions they need to take. This improves the participant experience and reduces support queries.
Saving and Publishing:
Once all details are configured, click Save Prerequisite. The new prerequisite will be added to the list. For changes to take effect for participants, ensure the program itself is published or updated.
Reviewing and Managing Existing Prerequisites:
From the Prerequisites tab, you can view all configured requirements.
Edit: Click the Edit icon next to any prerequisite to modify its settings.
Delete: Click the Delete icon to remove a prerequisite. Confirm deletion when prompted.
Reorder: Use the drag-and-drop handles (often three horizontal lines) to change the order in which prerequisites are displayed to participants. This can be important for logical flow.
Tips
Clearly articulate each prerequisite. Use precise language to describe what is required, why it is necessary, and how participants can fulfil it. Ambiguity can lead to participant frustration and increased support requests.
Ensure every prerequisite directly supports the learning outcomes or operational requirements of the program. Avoid superfluous requirements that add unnecessary hurdles.
Proactively inform prospective participants about all prerequisites during the program's promotional or application phase. This manages expectations and allows participants time to prepare.
For complex programs, consider using "Required for Progression" prerequisites to introduce requirements incrementally. This can make the overall journey less daunting for participants.
For each prerequisite, consider linking to relevant internal or external resources that can help participants meet the requirement (e.g., links to specific courses, templates for documents, FAQs).
Periodically review your program's prerequisites to ensure they remain current, relevant, and effective. Adjust them as program content or external standards evolve.
Before launching a program, test the prerequisite setup from a participant's perspective. Enrol a test user and ensure the process is intuitive, clear, and functions as intended.
