DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) authenticates your outgoing emails, preventing spoofing and building trust with guests. Configuring DKIM records improves email deliverability, ensuring booking confirmations and important updates reach your guests reliably.
Accessing this feature
Go to Domain Settings > Email Authentication
How to use it
Within the Tourism Accelerator platform, go to Domain Settings > Email Authentication. Locate the option to Generate DKIM Record or View DKIM Details. The platform provides a unique DKIM Host/Name (selector) and a Value (the public key string).
Log in to your domain name registrar or DNS hosting provider (e.g., Cloudflare, GoDaddy, cPanel, AWS Route 53, etc.).
Go to the DNS management section, often labelled DNS Management, DNS Editor, or Zone File Editor.
Select the option to Add New Record or Create New Record.
Choose TXT as the record type.
For the Host, Name, or Subdomain field, enter the DKIM Host/Name (selector) provided by the Tourism Accelerator platform (e.g., `selector._domainkey` or `ta1._domainkey`). Do not include your full domain name if your DNS provider automatically appends it.
For the Value, Text, or Content field, paste the entire DKIM Value (public key string) provided by the Tourism Accelerator platform. Ensure you copy the entire string accurately, including the `v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=` prefix and all subsequent characters.
For the TTL (Time To Live) field, leave it at its default setting (e.g., 3600 seconds or 1 hour).
Click Save, Add Record, or Create Record to publish your new DKIM TXT record.
Return to the Email Authentication section within your Tourism Accelerator platform.
Click the Verify DKIM or Check Status button. Alternatively, use online DKIM lookup tools (e.g., MXToolbox, DKIMValidator) by entering your domain and the DKIM selector.
Once verified, the platform confirms that your DKIM record is correctly configured and active.
Tips
Combine DKIM with SPF (Sender Policy Framework) and DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) for comprehensive email authentication. SPF specifies which mail servers are authorised to send email on behalf of your domain, while DMARC instructs recipient servers on how to handle emails that fail SPF or DKIM checks.
Regularly verify your DKIM records using the Tourism Accelerator platform's verification tool or external lookup services.
Be aware that DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate globally.
For enhanced security, consider rotating your DKIM keys annually. The Tourism Accelerator platform will guide you through this process if required.
