The platform search tool helps you quickly locate information and resources. Tourism operators can search for topics like "eco-tourism certifications" to find relevant guides and templates, saving research time and attracting environmentally conscious guests.
Accessing this feature
The search bar is located at the top of the Tourism Accelerator platform interface, typically within the header section. It is designed for quick access from any page.
How to use it
Locate the search input field at the top of the page.
Type your search query into the field. Use specific terms relevant to the content you are seeking. For example, instead of "marketing", try "digital marketing strategy for small operators".
Press Enter on your keyboard or click the magnifying glass icon (if present) to submit your query.
The platform will display a list of results that match your keywords. These results are typically ranked by relevance.
If the search results page offers filters (e.g., by content type, date, topic), use these to narrow down your results further. This can significantly improve the precision of your search.
If the initial results are not satisfactory, modify your search terms. Try synonyms, broader terms, or more specific phrases.
The search engine indexes content across the entire Tourism Accelerator platform, including articles, courses, tools, templates, and community discussions, ensuring a broad range of relevant results. It supports exact keyword matching as well as partial string matching, allowing for flexibility in query formulation. The system incorporates a degree of synonym recognition to broaden result sets for common industry terms, even if the exact word isn't present in the content. Advanced filtering options are available on the search results page, enabling you to refine outcomes based on content type, publication date, or specific categories. The search index is regularly updated to synchronise with new content additions and modifications, ensuring that results are current and reflect the latest available resources. Search results are intelligently ranked based on an algorithm that considers keyword frequency, content recency, and overall content authority, presenting the most relevant information first.
Tips
Verify Search Terms: Double-check your spelling and grammar. A simple typo can lead to zero results.
Consider alternative phrasing or synonyms if your initial terms are not yielding expected outcomes.
Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Outdated cached data or corrupted cookies can sometimes interfere with platform functionalities, including search. Clearing these can often resolve intermittent issues.
Try a Different Browser: Browser-specific extensions, settings, or compatibility issues can occasionally impact platform features. Attempting your search in an alternative, supported browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari) can help identify if the problem is browser-related.
Check Internet Connection: A stable and active internet connection is fundamental for all online platform functionalities. Ensure your device is connected to a reliable network.
Simplify complex search terms: If a complex phrase yields no results, break it down into simpler, more concise keywords. Gradually add more terms if the initial broad search is too extensive.
Avoid Excessive Punctuation or Special Characters: While the search engine is robust, unusual punctuation or special characters (unless part of a specific product code or identifier) can sometimes confuse the search algorithm.
Check the Tourism Accelerator status page (if available) for any reported platform-wide issues or scheduled maintenance that might temporarily affect search functionality. (Note: A link to a hypothetical status page would be provided here if one existed, e.g., System Status).
Restart Your Device: A simple device restart can resolve underlying software glitches that might be impacting browser performance or internet connectivity, indirectly affecting search.
Confirm Platform Access: Ensure you are correctly logged into the Tourism Accelerator platform. Certain content or search features might be restricted or display differently for unauthenticated users.
