The Activity Feed streams real-time updates and actions. Tourism operators can quickly address booking modifications and availability adjustments, improving resource management. For example, operators can immediately see when a whale watching tour is underbooked and launch a targeted social media campaign to boost bookings.

Accessing this feature

Go to your Dashboard. The Activity Feed is prominently displayed on the Dashboard, on the right-hand side or in a central panel. For an expanded view, click View All Activity within the feed.

How to use it

Upon accessing the feed, a list of the most recent activities displays. Each entry provides a concise summary, including the action taken, the item affected, and the user responsible. Activities are categorised to provide context. Common activity types include:

  • Project Updates: Changes to project status, new milestones, or project descriptions.

  • Resource Management: Uploads, deletions, or modifications of files and documents.

  • Task Management: Task assignments, completions, or deadline changes.

  • Comments & Discussions: New comments added to projects, tasks, or resources.

  • User Interactions: New user invitations or profile updates (where applicable).

Each activity entry is a clickable link. Clicking an activity directs you to the specific project, task, or resource page where the action occurred. The feed automatically synchronises to display the latest information. If you require an update, a refresh icon (often represented by circular arrows) may be available within the feed to manually reload it.

When viewing the full Activity page (via View All Activity), advanced options for filtering and sorting are available:

  • Filter by Type: Select specific categories of activity (e.g., "Projects," "Resources," "Comments") to narrow down the displayed events.

  • Filter by User: View activities performed by a specific team member or collaborator.

  • Filter by Date Range: Define a specific period to review activities that occurred within those dates.

  • Sort Order: Arrange activities chronologically, either from newest to oldest or oldest to newest.

  • Mark as Read/Unread (if applicable): Some implementations may offer functionality to mark specific activities as read or unread.

Tips

  • Review the Activity Feed at the start of each workday for a quick overview of recent developments.

  • When navigating to the full Activity page, use the filtering options to focus on information most pertinent to your role or current projects. For example, filter by 'Project Updates' to monitor key project progress, or by a specific user to track their contributions.

  • Stay informed, but avoid getting bogged down by every single notification. Use it as a high-level overview, diving into specific details only when an activity directly impacts your responsibilities or requires your attention.

  • Encourage your team members to regularly consult the feed to promote shared understanding of ongoing work, reduces communication overhead, and helps team members quickly identify how their work integrates with others'.

  • Use the Activity Feed in conjunction with dedicated project boards, task lists, and communication channels for a comprehensive view of your operations. The feed serves as a starting point for deeper investigation.

  • Encourage your team members to promptly update tasks, upload resources, and add comments, so the Activity Feed accurately reflects the current state of work.
