Overview

Configure your microsite's domain and SEO settings to improve visibility, branding, and search engine rankings. Set up custom domains, optimise for search engines, and track your site's performance.

Domain Settings

Slug-Based URL (Always Available)

Every microsite gets a unique slug URL:

  • Format: launchpad.tourismaccelerator.com.au/sites/your-slug

  • Customisable: Choose your own slug

  • Always Active: Works immediately

  • Example: /sites/gold-coast-tourism

Custom Domain (Premium Feature)

Use your own domain name:

  • Format: insider.yourbusiness.com.au

  • Verification Required: Must verify domain ownership

  • SSL Included: Automatic SSL certificate

  • Professional: More branded appearance

Setting Up Custom Domain

  1. Choose Your Domain

    • Enter desired domain (e.g., insider.yourbusiness.com.au)

    • Check availability

  2. Verify Domain Ownership

    • Add DNS record to your domain

    • Wait for verification (usually 24-48 hours)

    • Domain is verified automatically

  3. SSL Certificate

    • Automatically provisioned after verification

    • HTTPS enabled by default

    • Secure connection for visitors

SEO Settings

Meta Tags

Page Title

  • Meta Title: Title shown in search results

  • Recommended: 50-60 characters

  • Include: Organisation name and key terms

  • Example: "Gold Coast Tourism - Insider Portal"

Meta Description

  • Meta Description: Description in search results

  • Recommended: 150-160 characters

  • Include: Key benefits and value proposition

  • Example: "Discover Gold Coast's premier tourism experiences and insider insights."

Open Graph (Social Sharing)

OG Image

  • Image: Image shown when sharing on social media

  • Recommended Size: 1200x630 pixels

  • Format: JPG or PNG

  • Include: Your logo or a branded image

Additional SEO

Keywords

  • Keywords: Relevant search terms

  • Format: Comma-separated list

  • Focus: Location, services, expertise

Canonical URL

  • Canonical: Preferred URL for search engines

  • Prevents: Duplicate content issues

  • Auto-set: Usually your custom domain

No Index

  • No Index: Prevent search engine indexing

  • Use Case: Private or test sites

  • Default: Indexed (recommended)

Favicon

  • Favicon: Small icon in browser tab

  • Size: 32x32 or 16x16 pixels

    • Navigate to "Domain" section

    • Enter custom domain

  2. Add DNS Record

    • Copy verification token

    • Add CNAME record to your DNS

    • Wait for verification

  3. Verify Domain

    • System verifies automatically

    • Usually takes 24-48 hours

    • You'll be notified when complete

Setting Up SEO
