Accepting Job Assignments

When a tourism operator needs your skills, they'll send you a job assignment offer. This guide explains how to review these offers and accept the ones that work for you.

How Assignment Offers Work

When an operator wants to book you for work, you'll receive an assignment offer. This offer includes all the details you need to decide whether the job is right for you.

Receiving Assignment Notifications

You'll be notified of new assignment offers through:

  • Email notifications — Sent to your registered email address

  • In-app notifications — Visible when you sign in to the portal

  • SMS alerts — If you've enabled text message notifications

We recommend responding to offers promptly, as operators often need to confirm their staffing quickly.

Reviewing an Assignment Offer

  • Sign in to your Contractor Portal at /contractor

  • Look for the Pending Assignments section on your dashboard

  • Click on an assignment to view the full details

Each assignment offer includes:

Accepting an Assignment

Once you've reviewed the details and decided to take the job:

  • Click the Accept Assignment button

  • Review the confirmation summary

  • Click Confirm to finalise your acceptance

You'll receive a confirmation email with all the assignment details. The assignment will now appear in your Upcoming Assignments section on your dashboard.

What Happens After You Accept

Once you've accepted an assignment:

  • The operator is notified immediately

  • The assignment is confirmed in your schedule

  • You may receive additional information from the operator

  • The time is automatically blocked in your availability calendar

Before You Accept, Consider

Take a moment to check:

  • Your availability — Are you genuinely free during the entire assignment time?

  • Travel requirements — Can you get to the location on time?

  • Qualifications — Do you have any certifications or equipment the assignment requires?

  • Other commitments — Have you checked for conflicts with other bookings?

Accepting Multiple Assignments

You can accept multiple assignments as long as they don't overlap. The system will alert you if you try to accept an assignment that conflicts with an existing commitment.

Time-Sensitive Offers

Some assignment offers have an expiry time. If the operator needs to confirm their team quickly, you'll see a countdown showing how long you have to respond. After this time, the offer may be withdrawn and sent to another contractor.

Questions About an Assignment?

If you need more information before accepting:

  • Use the Ask a Question option on the assignment details page

  • Your message will be sent directly to the operator

  • Wait for their response before making your decision

This keeps all communication in one place and ensures you have the information you need to make an informed decision.

Managing Your Accepted Assignments

After accepting, you can view all your upcoming work:

  • Navigate to /contractor

  • Your accepted assignments appear in the Upcoming Assignments section

  • Click any assignment to view full details or get directions to the location
