Editing an Event

Need to update your event? Whether you're fixing a typo, changing the venue, or updating the schedule, you can edit your event at any time — even after people have registered.

How to edit an event

  • Go to Events Management from the main menu

  • Find your event in the list

  • Click on the event to open it

  • Click Edit Event or the edit icon

  • Make your changes

  • Click Save Changes

What you can edit

  • Event Title — rename your event

  • Description — update what attendees will experience

  • Event Image — upload a new cover image

  • Category — change the event type

Date and time

  • Start Date and Time — adjust when it begins

  • End Date and Time — modify the finish time

  • Timezone — correct the timezone if needed

What happens when you edit

Before registrations

If no one has registered yet, all changes take effect immediately with no impact.

After registrations

When people have already registered:

  • Notifications — Launchpad can notify registered attendees of changes

  • Date/time changes — attendees receive an update email

  • Venue changes — attendees receive location update details

  • Description updates — changes appear immediately, no notification sent

Capacity changes

  • Increasing capacity — if you have a waitlist, people may be automatically offered spots

  • Decreasing capacity — existing registrations are preserved (you cannot reduce below current registrations)

Editing tickets after sales

Already sold tickets? You can still:

  • Add new ticket types — introduce new options

  • Adjust remaining quantity — change how many are left

  • Update descriptions — clarify what's included

  • End sales early — close a ticket type

You cannot:

  • Delete ticket types that have been purchased

  • Reduce price on already-purchased tickets (refunds must be handled separately)

Editing a published event

Published events appear in the public events listing. When editing:

  • Changes save as a draft until you click Save Changes

  • Your event stays live while you're editing

  • Once saved, updates appear immediately

Cancelling vs editing

If your event isn't happening:

  • For minor changes — edit the event

  • For postponement — update the date and notify attendees

  • For cancellation — see Cancelling an Event

Tips for smooth edits

  • Preview first — check how changes look before saving

  • Communicate changes — let attendees know about significant updates

  • Update early — make changes well before the event date

  • Check registrations — review how changes affect current attendees
