Logging Your Hours

Accurate time tracking ensures you're paid correctly for all the work you do. The Tourism Accelerator makes it easy to log your hours as you work, so you'll always have a complete record come payment time.

Why Accurate Time Logging Matters

Logging your hours properly:

  • Ensures you're paid for every hour worked

  • Provides a clear record for you and the operator

  • Speeds up the approval and payment process

  • Helps operators manage their budgets and scheduling

Accessing Your Timesheets

  • Sign in to the Contractor Portal at /contractor

  • Click Timesheets in the navigation menu, or go directly to /timesheets

  • You'll see your timesheet overview with recent entries

Logging Hours for an Assignment

After completing work, log your hours as soon as possible while the details are fresh:

  • Navigate to /timesheets

  • Click Log Hours or Add Time Entry

  • Select the assignment from the dropdown list

  • Enter your start time

  • Enter your finish time

  • The system will calculate your total hours automatically

  • Add any notes about the work completed (optional but helpful)

  • Click Save Entry

Logging Breaks

If you took unpaid breaks during your shift:

  • Enter your break duration in the designated field

  • The system will subtract this from your total hours

  • Be accurate — this affects your final pay calculation

Different operators may have different policies about breaks, so check with them if you're unsure.

Logging Hours for Multiple Days

If an assignment spans multiple days, create a separate time entry for each day:

  • Log Day 1 with its start and end times

  • Save the entry

  • Click Add Another Entry

  • Select the same assignment and enter Day 2's times

  • Repeat for each day worked

This gives both you and the operator a clear breakdown of hours by day.

Editing a Time Entry

Made a mistake? You can edit entries that haven't been submitted yet:

  • Go to /timesheets

  • Find the entry you need to change

  • Click the Edit button (pencil icon)

  • Make your corrections

  • Click Save Changes

Once you've submitted your timesheet for approval, you'll need to contact the operator to request changes.

Tips for Accurate Time Logging

  • Log hours daily — Don't wait until the end of the week; log each day's work when you finish

  • Be precise — Round to the nearest 15 minutes as per your agreement with the operator

  • Note overtime — If you worked beyond the scheduled hours, note this clearly

  • Record everything — Include setup time, pack-down, or travel if your agreement covers these

Understanding Your Timesheet Dashboard

Your timesheet dashboard at /timesheets shows:

  • Draft entries — Hours logged but not yet submitted

  • Submitted entries — Hours sent for approval

  • Approved entries — Hours confirmed by the operator

  • Paid entries — Hours that have been processed for payment

Timesheet Deadlines

Operators may have deadlines for submitting timesheets. Common deadlines include:

  • End of the day following your shift

  • End of the working week (usually Friday)

  • End of the pay period

Check with each operator for their specific requirements. Submitting on time helps ensure you're paid promptly.

What Happens After Logging

After you log your hours:

  • The entry appears in your draft timesheets

  • You can review and edit as needed

  • When ready, you'll submit the timesheet for approval

  • The operator reviews and approves your hours

  • Approved hours are processed for payment
