Set up events for workshops, tours, training sessions, and more

Creating an Event

Events let you run workshops, training sessions, networking events, tours, and other activities that people can register for. Launchpad handles registration, ticketing, and check-in.

Before you start

Think about your event:

  • What type of event is it?

  • When and where will it happen?

  • How many people can attend?

  • Will you charge for tickets?

How to create an event

  • Go to Events Management from the main menu

  • Click Create Event

  • Complete the event setup (see steps below)

  • Click Save or Publish

Event setup steps

Basic information

  • Event Title — what's the event called? (required)

  • Description — explain what the event is about

  • Event Image — upload a cover image

  • Category — select the type (workshop, networking, training, etc.)

Date and time

  • Timezone — select your timezone

  • Event Type — in-person, online, or hybrid

  • Start Date and Time — when the event begins (required)

  • End Date and Time — when it finishes

Location

For in-person events:

  • Venue Name — where it's being held

  • Venue Address — use the address autocomplete


For online events:

  • Platform — Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, etc.

  • Meeting URL — link for attendees to join


For hybrid events:

  • Enter both physical and online details


Tickets and pricing

Set up one or more ticket types:

  • Click Add Ticket Type

  • Enter ticket details:

- Name — e.g., "General Admission", "Early Bird", "VIP" - Price — the cost (or $0 for free events) - Description — what's included - Quantity — how many available

  • Optionally set sale dates (when tickets go on/off sale)

  • Repeat for additional ticket types

Registration settings

  • Capacity — maximum total attendees

  • Registration Opens — when people can start registering

  • Registration Closes — deadline for registration

  • Approval Required — toggle if you want to manually approve registrations

Custom questions

Collect additional information from registrants:

  • Click Add Question

  • Enter your question

  • Choose the type (text, dropdown, checkboxes, etc.)

  • Mark as required if needed

  • Add answer options for multiple choice questions

Event profile

Save time by using an event profile with pre-set contact details:

  • Select an existing profile, OR

  • Enter custom contact email and phone

Saving your event

Choose how to save:

  • Save as Draft — keep working on it later

  • Publish — make it live and available for registration

After publishing

Once published, your event:

  • Appears in the Events listing

  • Accepts registrations

  • Sends confirmation emails to registrants

Managing your event

From Events Management, you can:

  • View registrations

  • Edit event details

  • Send reminders

  • Check in attendees

  • View analytics

Tips for successful events

  • Write a compelling description — help people understand the value

  • Set clear expectations — what will attendees learn or experience?

  • Add a great image — visuals attract more registrations

  • Open registration early — give people time to plan

  • Use custom questions — gather useful information upfront
