Event Registration Settings
Registration settings control who can sign up for your event, when they can register, and what information you collect from them.
Basic registration settings
Capacity
Set the maximum number of attendees:
Open your event in Events Management
Click Edit Event
Set the Capacity field
Save changes
Tips:
Include buffer for no-shows (typically 10-15%)
Consider venue capacity limits
Leave room for VIP or late additions
Registration window
Control when people can register:
Registration Opens — when sign-ups begin
Registration Closes — deadline for registration
Common approaches:
Open registration 4-6 weeks before the event
Close registration 24-48 hours before (allows time for preparation)
Keep registration open until event start (for casual events)
Approval required
Toggle manual approval for registrations:
When to use:
Curated or invite-only events
Limited capacity with high demand
Events requiring attendee screening
How it works:

You receive a notification
Review the registration in Events Management
Approve or decline
Attendee receives confirmation (if approved)

Collect additional information from registrants beyond their name and email.
Adding questions
Edit your event
Scroll to Custom Questions or Registration Form
Click Add Question
Configure your question:
Question types
Short Text — single-line answer (name, company, etc.)
Long Text — multi-line answer (dietary requirements, questions)
Single Select — choose one option from a list
Multi Select — choose multiple options
Checkbox — yes/no confirmation
Number — numeric input
Date — date picker
Email — validated email format
Phone — phone number
Question settings
Required — must answer to complete registration
Help Text — additional guidance shown below the question
Placeholder — example text shown in empty field

Registration confirmation
Automatic emails
When someone registers, they receive:
Confirmation email with event details
Ticket/QR code for check-in
Calendar invitation (optional)
Reminder emails (if configured)
Customising confirmation
You can customise the confirmation message:
Edit your event
Find Confirmation Message
Add details like:
- What to bring - Parking information - Pre-event preparation - Contact details for questions
Waitlist settings
When your event reaches capacity:
Enabling waitlist
Edit your event
Enable Waitlist option
Set Waitlist Capacity (optional)
Save changes
How waitlist works
Event reaches capacity
New registrations join the waitlist
If a spot opens, next person in queue is notified
They have a set time to confirm (usually 24-48 hours)
If they don't confirm, next person is notified

Group registrations
Enabling group bookings
Allow one person to register multiple attendees:
Edit your event
Find Group Registration settings
Set Maximum Group Size
Choose what information to collect per attendee
Group information options
Names only — just collect names for each attendee
Full details — email and custom questions for each person
Primary contact only — one set of details for the whole group
Registration page settings
Event visibility
Public — appears in event listings, anyone can register
Unlisted — only accessible via direct link
Private — requires authentication to view

Configure these in your Event Profile.

Before promoting your event:
Open your event's public page
Complete a test registration
Check the confirmation email
Verify your custom questions work
Test on mobile devices
Cancel the test registration when done
