Privacy and data handling

What you're responsible for

  • Use it only for stated purposes

  • Delete when no longer needed

  • Comply with privacy laws

Data protection tips

  • Password protect — secure exported files

  • Limit access — share only with those who need it

  • Delete old exports — don't keep data longer than necessary

  • Anonymise when possible — remove identifying info for aggregate analysis

Privacy compliance

Ensure you:

  • Have consent to use attendee data

  • Respect opt-out requests

  • Follow Australian privacy principles

Troubleshooting exports

Export not downloading

  • Check your browser's download settings

  • Try a different browser

  • Clear browser cache

  • Disable pop-up blockers

Data missing

  • Check your filters

  • Ensure date range is correct

  • Verify the data exists in Launchpad

Formatting issues

  • For CSV: open in Excel/Sheets, not text editor

  • For dates: check regional settings

  • For special characters: ensure UTF-8 encoding

Large exports

For events with many registrations:

  • Allow time for the export to generate

  • Download during off-peak times

  • Consider exporting in batches

What to export when

Before the event

  • Attendee list for check-in backup

  • Name badges or sign-in sheets

  • Catering numbers

During the event

  • Real-time check-in data (if needed)

After the event

  • Complete attendee list with check-in status

  • Final analytics report

  • Revenue report

  • Data for follow-up communications

Tips for effective exports

  • Export promptly — don't wait too long after events

  • Use consistent naming — include event name and date in filename

  • Organise files — keep exports in structured folders

  • Back up important data — don't rely solely on Launchpad

  • Regular cleanup — delete old exports you no longer need

Your event data is valuable — export it, analyse it, and use it to make your next event even better.
