Creating Your First Product

Products are at the heart of your tourism business — they're what you sell to customers. This guide walks you through creating your first product in Launchpad.

Before you start

Think about what you want to list:

  • A tour or experience

  • Accommodation

  • A package combining multiple offerings

  • An attraction or activity

  • Transport services

Have ready:

  • Product name and description

  • Pricing information

  • Photos (optional but recommended)

How to create a product

  • Go to Products from the main menu

  • Click Add Product in the top right

  • Follow the creation wizard

Step 1: Basic information

Enter the fundamentals:

  • Product name — what you call this product (required)

  • Product type — select from:

- Accommodation - Tour - Experience - Attraction - Event - Package - Transport - Restaurant - Other

  • Description — explain what the product is and what's included

Click Next to continue.

Step 2: Pricing

Set up your pricing:

  • Click Add Rate to create a pricing tier

  • Enter the rate name (e.g., "Adult", "Child", "Family")

  • Enter the price

  • Select the currency (AUD, USD, NZD)

  • Choose the pricing period:

- Per person - Per night - Per booking - Per hour - Per day

Add as many rates as you need. For example, a tour might have:

  • Adult: $150 per person

  • Child (4-12): $75 per person

  • Family (2+2): $400 per booking

Click Next to continue.

Step 3: Additional details

Add extra information:

  • Maximum capacity — how many people/bookings you can handle

  • What's included — list inclusions (meals, equipment, etc.)

Click Next to continue.

Step 4: Review and publish

Check everything looks correct:

  • Review all your product details

  • Choose the status:

- Draft — save without publishing - Active — make available immediately - Inactive — keep hidden for now

  • Click Create Product

After creating your product

Your product now appears in your Products list. From there you can:

  • Edit details anytime

  • Add images

  • Set up rate periods for seasonal pricing

  • Assign to categories

Tips for a great product listing

  • Write a compelling description — help customers understand the experience

  • Be specific about inclusions — what's included and what's not

  • Price clearly — make sure customers understand what they're paying for

  • Add photos later — you can always enhance your listing

Your first product is a big milestone — well done for getting started!
