Logging Time

Tracking time helps you understand where your hours go, bill clients accurately, and manage project budgets. Launchpad offers two ways to log time: using the timer or adding entries manually.

Using the timer

The timer tracks time as you work.

Starting a timer

  • Click Start Timer

  • Enter a description of what you're working on

  • Optionally link to a project and/or task

  • The timer starts immediately

While the timer runs

  • The timer shows elapsed time

  • You can see it in the Project Hub dashboard

  • Continue working as normal

Stopping the timer

  • Click Stop on the timer

  • Review the time entry

  • Add or update details if needed

  • The entry is saved automatically

Pausing and resuming

If you need to pause:

  • Click Pause to temporarily stop

  • The timer remembers your elapsed time

  • Click Resume to continue

  • Click Stop when finished

Logging time manually

Add entries for work you've already done.

How to add a manual entry

  • Click Log Time or Add Entry

  • Fill in the details:

- Description — what you worked on - Duration — hours and minutes - Date — when the work was done - Project — link to a project (optional) - Task — link to a specific task (optional) - Billable — toggle if this time can be invoiced

  • Click Save

Time entry details

Description

Write what you worked on:

  • "Client call to discuss campaign"

  • "Designed social media graphics"

  • "Research for blog article"

Duration

Enter time as hours and minutes:

  • 1h 30m

Project and task

Link entries to projects and tasks:

  • Project — associates time with a project budget

  • Task — tracks time against specific work items

This helps with reporting and billing.

Billable vs non-billable

  • Billable — time you can charge to a client

  • Non-billable — internal time (admin, learning, etc.)

Toggle the billable switch when creating entries.

Billable rate

If set, this calculates the dollar value of the time:

  • Rate × Hours = Billable amount

Set your default rate in project settings.
