Provide customers with proof of purchase through printed or digital receipts, and learn how to reprint or resend when needed.

Issuing Receipts

Receipts provide your customers with proof of purchase and important details about their booking or transaction. Tourism Accelerator makes it easy to issue receipts in the format that works best for each customer.

Receipt Options

After completing a sale, you can provide receipts in several ways:

  • Printed Receipt: Traditional paper receipt from your receipt printer

  • Email Receipt: Digital receipt sent directly to the customer's inbox

  • SMS Receipt: Text message with a link to view the receipt

  • No Receipt: Skip the receipt if the customer doesn't need one

Issuing a Receipt After Sale

When a sale is completed:

  • A receipt prompt appears automatically

  • Choose your preferred receipt method:

- Click Print for a paper receipt - Click Email to send digitally - Click Skip if no receipt is needed

Printing a Receipt

  • Click Print Receipt

  • The receipt is sent to your connected printer

  • Hand the receipt to the customer

Ensure your receipt printer is connected and has paper loaded.

Emailing a Receipt

  • Click Email Receipt

  • If a customer is attached, their email is pre-filled

  • If not, enter the customer's email address

  • Click Send

  • The receipt arrives in their inbox within moments

What's Included on a Receipt

Tourism Accelerator receipts include:

  • Your business name and contact details

  • Transaction date and time

  • Receipt/transaction number

  • Itemised list of purchases

  • Quantities and individual prices

  • Any discounts applied

  • Subtotal, GST, and total

  • Payment method used

  • Booking details (date, time, reference) for experiences

  • Your refund/cancellation policy (optional)

Reprinting a Receipt

Need to print a receipt again? No problem:

  • Navigate to Sales > Sales History

  • Find the transaction using search or filters

  • Click on the transaction to open details

  • Click Print Receipt

  • A fresh copy prints immediately

Resending an Email Receipt

If a customer didn't receive their email receipt:

  • Go to Sales > Sales History

  • Find and open the transaction

  • Click Resend Receipt

  • Confirm or update the email address

  • Click Send

Tip: Ask the customer to check their spam folder first—email receipts occasionally land there.

Customising Your Receipts

Make your receipts reflect your brand:

  • Go to Settings > Receipt Settings

  • Customise the following:

- Logo: Add your business logo - Header text: Custom message at the top - Footer text: Policies, thank you message, or social media handles - Contact details: Phone, email, website - Font size: Adjust for readability

  • Click Save

  • Print a test receipt to preview your changes

Adding Booking Details to Receipts

For experience bookings, receipts automatically include:

  • Experience name

  • Date and time of the booking

  • Number of participants

  • Booking reference number

  • Meeting point (if configured)

  • What to bring reminders (if configured)

This ensures customers have all the information they need for their visit.

Gift Receipts

For purchases that are gifts:

  • Before completing the sale, click Gift Receipt

  • The receipt will exclude prices

  • A gift message can be added

  • Print or email as normal

Receipt for Multiple Items

When a sale includes several items:

  • All items appear on one receipt

  • Each item shows its individual price

  • Experiences include their booking details

  • The total reflects all items

Digital Receipt Benefits

Encouraging email receipts offers advantages:

  • Eco-friendly: Reduces paper usage

  • Never lost: Customers can find it in their email

  • Booking reminder: Serves as a confirmation for tours

  • Easy sharing: Customers can forward to travel companions

  • Data capture: Builds your customer email list (with consent)

Troubleshooting

Receipt printer not working

  • Check power and cable connections

  • Ensure paper is loaded correctly

  • Verify printer is selected in POS settings

  • Try restarting the printer

Email receipts not arriving

  • Confirm the email address is correct

  • Ask customer to check spam/junk folder

  • Try resending the receipt

  • Check your email settings in the dashboard

Receipt formatting looks wrong

  • Review your receipt settings

  • Ensure paper width matches printer settings

  • Contact support for assistance

Legal Requirements

In Australia, you must provide a receipt if:

  • The customer asks for one

  • The purchase is over $75 (GST requirement)

  • It's an experience booking with future delivery
