Removing Team Members
When a team member permanently leaves your organisation, you can remove them from Launchpad. This is different from deactivation — removal is permanent.
Deactivate or remove?
Scenario | Recommendation |
Employee resigned or was terminated | Remove |
Contractor finished their contract | Remove |
Seasonal staff between seasons
Extended leave (parental, sabbatical)
Unsure if they'll return | Deactivate first |
What happens when you remove a member
Removing a team member:
Revokes all access — they cannot sign in to your organisation
Preserves their data — bookings and records they created remain
Updates attributions — their name stays on historical records
Frees up a seat — the slot can be used for a new team member
Cannot be undone — they'd need a new invitation to rejoin
Before you remove
Take these steps before removing someone:
1. Reassign their responsibilities
Review any bookings assigned to them
Transfer customer relationships to other team members
Hand over ongoing projects or tasks
2. Export any needed information
Their personal notes that might not be in the system
Knowledge they hold about customers or processes
3. Consider deactivation first
If there's any chance they'll return, deactivate instead. You can always remove them later.
4. Follow your HR processes
Ensure removal aligns with your organisation's offboarding procedures.
How to remove a team member
Go to Settings > Team
Find the team member in the list
Click on their row to open their profile
Click the three dots menu
Select Remove from Organisation
Review the confirmation screen:
- Number of bookings that will need reassignment - Any pending items requiring attention
Type the team member's name to confirm
Click Remove Permanently
The member is immediately removed.
Removing pending invitations
For people who never accepted their invitation:
Go to Settings > Team

Select Cancel Invitation
This invalidates their invitation link immediately.

Bulk removal
For removing multiple people at once:
Go to Settings > Team
Select the checkbox next to each person
Click Bulk Actions
Select Remove Selected
Review the summary
Confirm by typing "REMOVE"
Click Remove All
Use this carefully — it cannot be undone.
If they want to rejoin
If a removed team member needs to come back:
They cannot recover their old account
You must send a new invitation
They'll need to set up a new password
Their role and permissions start fresh
Their historical data is still there, just not linked to their new account
Common questions
Will removing them delete their bookings?
No. Bookings are preserved. Only their access is removed.
Can they still access customer data?
No. All access ends immediately upon removal.
What if I made a mistake?
Removal cannot be undone. You'll need to invite them again as a new team member.
Do they get notified?
No automatic notification is sent. Follow your organisation's offboarding process.
What about their linked accounts?
If they joined your organisation with an existing Launchpad account, they'll still have that account — just no longer access to your organisation.
