Setting Your Availability
Keeping your availability up to date is one of the most important things you can do as a contractor. When operators can see exactly when you're free, they're more likely to send you work that fits your schedule.
Why Availability Matters
Operators use your availability to:
Match you with suitable assignments
Avoid sending you offers when you're busy
Plan their staffing needs in advance
Build reliable teams for recurring events
Contractors with current availability receive significantly more job offers than those who don't update regularly.
Accessing Your Availability Calendar
Sign in to the Contractor Portal at
/contractorClick Availability in the navigation menu, or navigate directly to
/availabilityYour availability calendar will display
Setting Your Available Times
Adding Available Time Blocks
On the availability calendar, click on the day you want to mark as available
Select the time range you're free to work
Choose whether this is a one-off or recurring availability
Click Save Availability
Setting Recurring Availability
If you have a regular schedule, you can set recurring availability:
Click Add Recurring Availability
Select the days of the week you're typically available
Set your usual start and end times for each day
Choose how far in advance this pattern should apply
Click Save Pattern
For example, if you're always available on weekends, you can set this once and it will automatically appear on your calendar.
Blocking Out Unavailable Time
Life happens, and sometimes you need to block out time when you can't work:
Click on the date or date range you need to block
Select Mark as Unavailable
Optionally add a reason (this is private and helps you remember why)
Click Save
Blocked time will appear differently on your calendar so you can easily see at a glance when you're free versus when you're unavailable.
Managing Last-Minute Changes
If your availability changes unexpectedly:
Update your calendar as soon as possible
If you've already accepted an assignment during that time, contact the operator directly
Use the decline process for any pending offers you can no longer accept
Tips for Managing Your Availability
Update weekly β Set aside a few minutes each week to review and update the coming weeks
Think ahead β Add holidays, personal commitments, and other obligations as soon as you know about them
Be realistic β Only mark yourself available when you genuinely can work
Consider travel time β If you need time between assignments for travel, factor this into your availability
Viewing Your Availability History
You can review past availability patterns to help plan future schedules:
Navigate to
/availabilityUse the calendar navigation to view previous months
Past availability will be shown in a lighter colour
Syncing with External Calendars
If your Tourism Accelerator platform supports calendar integration, you may be able to sync your availability with Google Calendar or other calendar applications. Check with your administrator to see if this feature is enabled for your region.
Need to Make Changes?
Your availability is always editable. Simply return to /availability at any time to add, modify, or remove available time blocks. Changes take effect immediately and will be visible to operators looking for contractors.
