Adding Courses to a Program
Courses are the building blocks of your program. Each course covers a specific topic and contains lessons, resources, and assessments.
Accessing course management
Go to Programs > Manage Programs
Select the program you want to edit
Click the Courses tab
Click Add Course
Creating a course
Course details
Course title Make it descriptive and specific. Examples:
"Introduction to Social Media Marketing"
"Understanding Your Target Market"
"Delivering Exceptional Guest Experiences"
Course description Explain what participants will learn and why it matters. Estimated duration How long should this course take to complete? Be realistic — operators are busy. Course order Set where this course appears in the program sequence.
Adding lessons
Within each course, add lessons:
Click Add Lesson
Choose the lesson type:
- Text — written content with formatting - Video — embedded or uploaded video - Document — PDF or downloadable resource - External link — link to external content - Interactive — quizzes or activities
Enter the lesson content
Set the lesson order
Click Save Lesson
Lesson content tips
For text lessons:
Use headings to break up content
Include images where helpful
Keep paragraphs short
Add practical examples
For video lessons:
Keep videos under 10 minutes
Include captions for accessibility
Provide a written summary
For document lessons:
Use clear file names
Ensure documents are accessible
Consider mobile viewing
Adding assessments
Assessments help participants check their understanding:
Quiz
Click Add Assessment > Quiz
Add questions (multiple choice, true/false, etc.)
Set the passing score
Choose if participants can retry
Assignment
Click Add Assessment > Assignment
Describe what participants need to submit
Set the due date (if applicable)
Add a rubric or marking criteria
Practical task
Click Add Assessment > Practical Task
Describe the hands-on activity
Explain how completion is verified
Setting completion requirements
For each course, decide what "complete" means:
Go to Course Settings > Completion
Choose requirements:
- All lessons viewed - All assessments passed - Minimum time spent - Specific lessons/assessments required
Organising course content
Using sections
Group related lessons into sections:
Click Add Section
Name the section (e.g., "Module 1: Getting Started")
Drag lessons into the section
Reorder as needed

Previewing your course
Before publishing:
Click Preview Course
Step through as a participant would
Check all content displays correctly
Test assessments work properly
Verify completion tracking
Publishing courses
Courses can be:
Draft — not visible to participants
Published — visible and available
Archived — hidden but data retained
To publish:
Ensure all content is complete
Click Publish Course
The course is now available to enrolled participants
Updating existing courses
You can update published courses:
Make your changes
Click Save
Changes appear immediately for new viewers
Participants mid-course see updates on their next visit
Note: Changing assessments may affect participants who haven't completed them yet.
Well-structured courses make learning easier — invest time in organising your content logically.
