Understanding Regional Analytics

Data is a powerful tool for understanding how tourism is performing in your region. Tourism Accelerator provides comprehensive analytics to help you track trends, identify opportunities, and demonstrate value to stakeholders. Let's explore what's available and how to use it.

Accessing Regional Analytics

  • Navigate to your regional dashboard at /regional

  • Click Analytics in the left sidebar

  • You'll see your regional analytics dashboard with multiple data views

Key Metrics Overview

Your analytics dashboard displays several important metrics:

Visitor Engagement

  • Page Views: How many times regional listings have been viewed

  • Unique Visitors: Individual users exploring your region

  • Average Session Duration: How long visitors spend browsing

  • Bounce Rate: Percentage of visitors who leave quickly

Operator Performance

  • Active Operators: Number of operators with complete, visible listings

  • Average Listing Score: Overall quality of operator listings in your region

  • Operator Engagement: How often operators log in and update content

  • New Registrations: Operators who joined during the selected period

Booking and Enquiry Data

  • Total Enquiries: Enquiries generated across all operators

  • Enquiry Conversion: Percentage of views that result in enquiries

  • Top Performing Listings: Operators receiving the most engagement

  • Category Performance: Which experience types are most popular

Using Date Ranges

Customise your view by adjusting the date range:

  • Click the date selector in the top right

  • Choose a preset period (Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last quarter, etc.)

  • Or select custom dates for specific analysis

  • Click Apply to update all metrics

Compare periods to identify trends:

  • Toggle Compare to Previous Period to see growth or decline

  • Percentages will show whether metrics are improving

Analysing Trends

Seasonal Patterns

Use longer date ranges to identify seasonal trends:

  • Select Last 12 Months from the date picker

  • View the trend graph showing monthly performance

  • Note peak periods and quieter times

  • Use these insights for planning marketing campaigns

Category Insights

Understand which tourism categories perform best:

  • Navigate to the Categories tab

  • View engagement breakdown by category

  • Identify underperforming categories that may need support

  • Spot emerging trends in visitor interest

Geographic Distribution

See where visitor interest is concentrated:

  • Click the Map View tab

  • View heat maps showing engagement hotspots

  • Identify areas that may be under-promoted

  • Use insights to balance regional promotion efforts

Operator Leaderboard

Recognise your top performers:

  • Go to Analytics > Leaderboard

  • View operators ranked by various metrics:

- Most page views - Highest engagement rate - Best listing quality score - Most improved

Use this to identify success stories and operators who might mentor others.

Exporting Analytics Data

Share insights with stakeholders:

  • Navigate to the analytics view you want to export

  • Click the Export button

  • Choose your format:

- PDF Report: Formatted for presentations - CSV Data: Raw data for further analysis - Image: Charts and graphs for documents

  • Select the date range to include

  • Click Download

Setting Up Regular Reports

Automate your reporting:

  • Go to Analytics > Scheduled Reports

  • Click Create New Report

  • Select the metrics to include

  • Choose frequency (weekly, monthly, quarterly)

  • Add recipient email addresses

  • Click Save

Reports will be automatically generated and emailed on schedule.

Making Data-Driven Decisions

Use your analytics to inform strategy:

  • Low engagement in a category? Consider targeted promotion or operator training

  • Seasonal dip approaching? Plan campaigns to boost off-peak visitation

  • Operators with low scores? Reach out to offer support and guidance

  • High-performing listings? Learn what they're doing right and share best practices

Analytics tell the story of your region's tourism performance. Regular review helps you spot opportunities and address challenges before they become problems.
