Using the Point of Sale
The Point of Sale (POS) is your digital till for processing sales when customers visit your tourism business in person or book over the phone. It's designed to be fast, intuitive, and reliable—even during your busiest periods.
Accessing the Point of Sale
Navigate to Sales in the main menu
Click Point of Sale or go directly to
/point-of-saleThe POS interface will open, ready for your first transaction
Understanding the POS Layout
The Point of Sale screen is organised to help you work efficiently:
Left Panel - Product Selection
Categories: Your experiences, merchandise, and add-ons organised by type
Search: Quickly find items by typing the product name
Favourites: Pin your most popular items for one-click access
Right Panel - Current Sale
Cart: Items added to the current transaction
Customer Details: Optional field to attach the sale to a customer record
Totals: Running total including GST
Payment Options: Complete the sale with your preferred payment method
Adding Items to a Sale
There are several ways to add items to a transaction:
Click a product tile in the left panel to add it to the cart
Use the search bar to find items by name, then click to add
Scan a barcode if you have merchandise with barcodes configured
To adjust quantities:
Click the + or - buttons next to an item in the cart
Or click the quantity number to type a specific amount
Attaching a Customer
While optional, attaching a customer to a sale helps you:
Build a purchase history for personalised service
Send digital receipts automatically
Track customer preferences over time
To attach a customer:
Click Add Customer in the right panel
Search for an existing customer or create a new one
Their details will appear on the transaction
Clearing the Cart
Made a mistake? No worries:
Click the X next to individual items to remove them
Click Clear All to start fresh
Tips for Busy Days
Use keyboard shortcuts: Press Enter to complete a sale quickly
Set up favourites: Pin your top-selling experiences to the first screen
Keep it simple: Train staff on the most common transactions first
