Removing Team Members

When team members leave your organisation or no longer need access to Launchpad, it's important to remove their access promptly. This protects your business data and keeps your team list accurate.

When to remove team members

Consider removing access when someone:

  • Leaves your organisation

  • Changes to a role that doesn't need Launchpad

  • Was a temporary or seasonal worker

  • No longer works on projects requiring access

  • Has been inactive for an extended period

Before you remove someone

Check for dependencies

Before removing a team member, consider:

  • Assigned bookings — are they responsible for upcoming bookings?

  • Tasks — do they have incomplete tasks assigned?

  • Customer relationships — are they the primary contact for clients?

  • Content ownership — did they create products, events, or other content?

You may need to reassign these items before removal.

Export relevant data

If you need records of their activity:

  • Review their recent actions in activity logs

  • Export any reports related to their work

  • Save relevant correspondence

How to remove a team member

  • Find the team member you want to remove

  • Click the Options menu (three dots) next to their name

  • Select Remove from Team or Remove Access

  • Confirm the removal when prompted

The person loses access immediately.

What happens when you remove someone

Immediate effects

  • They're signed out of all Launchpad sessions

  • They can no longer access your organisation

  • Their pending invitations (if any) are cancelled

What's preserved

  • Their historical activity remains in logs

  • Bookings and records they created stay intact

  • Their name appears in historical data (e.g., "Created by [Name]")

What's removed

  • Their access to your organisation

  • Their ability to sign in to your Launchpad

  • Their team member listing

Reassigning responsibilities

Reassigning bookings

Before or after removal:

  • Go to your Bookings

  • Filter by the team member's name

  • Open each booking

  • Change the assigned team member

  • Save the changes

Reassigning tasks

  • Go to your task management area

  • Filter tasks by the team member

  • Reassign incomplete tasks to other team members

  • Mark completed tasks as done

Updating customer contacts

If they were the primary contact for clients:

  • Go to your CRM

  • Find clients linked to that team member

  • Update the contact person to someone else

  • Notify clients if appropriate

Removing the organisation Owner

The Owner role cannot be removed like other team members. To change ownership:

  • The current Owner goes to Settings > Team

  • Select another Admin-level team member

  • Click Transfer Ownership

  • Confirm the transfer

The new Owner gains full control, and the previous Owner becomes an Admin.

Temporary vs permanent removal

Temporary suspension

If someone is away temporarily (leave, sabbatical):

  • Consider changing their role to Limited instead of removing

  • They retain their account but can't do much

  • When they return, restore their normal role

Permanent removal

For people who won't return:

  • Remove them completely

  • This keeps your team list clean

  • They'd need a new invitation to rejoin

Bulk removal

To remove multiple team members at once:

  • Select multiple team members using checkboxes

  • Click the Bulk Actions button

  • Choose Remove Selected

  • Confirm the removal

This is useful for end-of-season staff changes.

Re-inviting a removed team member

If someone needs access again after being removed:

Their previous activity history remains linked to their account.

Security best practices

Remove access promptly

Don't delay removing access for departed team members. Set a process:

  • HR notifies you of departures

  • You remove Launchpad access same day

  • Confirm removal and document it

Audit regularly

Review your team list periodically:

  • Check for inactive or unfamiliar users

  • Remove anyone who shouldn't have access

  • Update roles that need changing

Enable two-factor authentication

Even with proper removal processes, two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security.

Troubleshooting

Can't remove someone

If the remove option is unavailable:

  • Check that you have Admin or Owner access

  • You cannot remove yourself

  • You cannot remove the Owner (ownership must be transferred first)

Removed person still has access

If someone still seems to have access after removal:

  • Confirm the removal completed (check team list)

  • Ask them to refresh their browser

  • Their session may be cached — it will end shortly

  • Contact support if access persists

Accidentally removed someone

If you removed someone by mistake:

  • Simply re-invite them using Add Team Members

  • Assign their previous role

  • Their account and history remain intact

Prompt access removal keeps your business data secure and your team list current.
