Sustainability Badges & Recognition

Earn, display, and promote sustainability badges that recognise your commitment to responsible tourism.

Written by Hayden Zammit Meaney

Sustainability credentials matter more than ever to modern travellers — particularly international visitors who actively seek out responsible tourism operators. Launchpad helps you earn recognised sustainability badges and display them where they'll have the most impact: on your profile, in proposals, and on your website.

Accessing badges and recognition

Go to Tourism for Good and select the Badges tab.

How to earn a badge

  1. Complete your Sustainability Assessment. Your score determines which badges you are eligible for.

  2. Upload evidence for the relevant pillars — actions, certifications, or documented practices.

  3. Submit for review. Launchpad verifies your evidence against the badge criteria.

  4. Once approved, your badge appears in your profile and is available to share.

Badge types

  • Tourism for Good Participant — awarded for completing your sustainability assessment and committing to the framework.

  • Tourism for Good Achiever — awarded for reaching a score threshold and implementing documented actions.

  • Green is Our Gold — the national sustainability badge for operators meeting the program criteria.

  • Third-party certifications — connect external certifications (EarthCheck, Ecotourism Australia, etc.) to your profile to have them recognised alongside Launchpad badges.

Displaying your badges

  1. From the Badges page, click Share Badge next to any earned badge.

  2. Download the badge image for use in email signatures, marketing materials, and your website.

  3. Copy the embed code to add a live badge widget to your website — it automatically updates when you earn new badges.

  4. Your badges also appear automatically on your tourism product listings and proposals.

Tips

  • Even a Participant badge signals commitment to travellers who are researching operators. Don't wait until you have a high score to start promoting your involvement.

  • Include your sustainability credentials in your Marketing Profile — the AI uses them to write authentically about your responsible tourism commitment.

  • Check whether your regional tourism organisation has a co-branded sustainability program that offers additional recognition when you participate in Tourism for Good.
