allows you to define, organise, and track your business goals. This feature provides a central place to organise your ideas, stay focused, measure progress, and grow your tourism business.

Accessing this feature

To access Strategy Management:

  1. Log into your Tourism Accelerator platform. This is your main hub.

  2. Look for the main menu on the left-hand side of your screen.

  3. Click on Strategies.

How to use it

Creating a New Strategy

This is where you bring your ideas to life!

  1. Once you are on the "Strategies" page, you will see a button that says Create. Click on it.

  2. A form will appear asking for details about your new strategy. Fill in the following:

  • Strategy Name: Give your strategy a clear and concise name. For example, "Q3 Marketing Push," "Improve Visitor Experience 2024," or "Expand into Regional Markets."

  • Description: Explain the core idea of your strategy in more detail. What is its purpose? What problem does it solve, or what opportunity does it seize?

  • Key Objective: What is the main thing you want to achieve with this strategy? Make it specific! For example, "Increase bookings by 15%," "Achieve 90% guest satisfaction," or "Launch two new tour packages."

  • Start Date & End Date: When do you plan for this strategy to begin and when do you hope to have achieved its objective? Setting these dates helps you stay on track.

  • Status: You can set the initial status to "Draft," "Active," or "On Hold." You can always change this later!

  1. Once you are happy with all the details, click the Save button at the bottom of the form.

  2. Your new strategy will appear in your list!

Editing an Existing Strategy

Plans can change, and that is normal! You can easily update any of your strategies:

  1. On the "Strategies" page, you will see a list of all your current strategies.

  2. Find the strategy you would like to update.

  3. On the right-hand side of that strategy's row, you will see an Edit button. Click on it.

  4. The same form you used to create the strategy will appear, but this time it will be pre-filled with your existing information.

  5. Make any changes you need – perhaps you have adjusted your dates, refined your objective, or want to add more to the description.

  6. When you are finished, click Save to save your changes.

Viewing Your Strategies

Sometimes you need to glance at your strategies! The main "Strategies" page gives you a great overview of all your strategies, including their names, key objectives, and current status. If you want to see all the details for a specific strategy without making changes, click on the Strategy Name in the list. This will open up a detailed view, letting you review everything at a glance.

With Strategy Management, you will be able to:

  • Create brand new strategies: Brainstorm and define all your future business plans.

  • Organise your strategies: Keep all your initiatives, big and small, in one place.

  • Set clear objectives: Define what success looks like for each strategy, making it easier to achieve.

  • Track progress: Monitor the status of your strategies from "Draft" to "Active" to "Completed."

  • Review and adjust: Easily edit any strategy as your business evolves or new opportunities arise.

  • Keep your team aligned: Have a central reference point that everyone in your organisation can understand and work towards.

Tips

Here are a few tips:

  • Start Small: Do not feel like you need to map out the next five years all at once! Begin with one or two key strategies for the next quarter or year. You can always add more later.

  • Be Specific: When setting your "Key Objective," try to make it SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. For example, instead of "Get more visitors," try "Increase website bookings by 10% in the next 6 months."

  • Review Regularly: Make it a habit to check in on your strategies weekly or monthly. Are you still on track? Do you need to adjust anything? Life happens, and your plans might need a tweak – that is fine!

  • Get Your Team Involved (if applicable): If you have a team, share your strategies with them! When everyone understands the goals, they can contribute more effectively.

  • Align with Your Vision: Ensure each strategy you create helps move your overall business vision forward. If it does not, it might be worth rethinking!

  • Use Statuses Wisely: Update the status of your strategies as they progress. This gives you a quick visual overview of what is active, what is on hold, and what is completed.
